Brassy to blonde.
No brassy blondes on my watch!
Transitioning to blonde can be a tricky process and typically require a lot of time…and this case was no different! The goal was to go from brassy orange to rooty blonde — keeping a root creates a lived-in feel and allows for a softer grow out.
Before blonde was even a possibility all the orange tones had to be removed Foiling the entire head with two different lightener formulas allowed for even lift and prevented the lighter ends of the hair from becoming over-processed. In the end all the blood, sweat, and tears were worth it because the final look was SO GOOD!
This amount of foiling takes A LOT of time so all corrective colors require an in-person consultation prior to service. Having a face to face conversation allows for a better assessment of what will be required to potentially achieve the end goal. Being on the same page about expectations, timing, and cost BEFORE the appointment is a good way to ensure there are no unexpected surprises. Corrective color is stressful enough as it is!
NOTE: The longer an appointment runs the higher the cost. An hourly rate of $120/hour is charged for all color corrections. This particular appointment took about 4.5 hours so it wasn’t cheap. Big transformations like this require a lot of time, knowledge, and product to do correctly, which is what you are paying for. It's understandable that something like this isn’t in everyone’s budget but instead of cutting costs, which can lead to bigger problems, talk to your colorist about other options. If someone tells you they will do it in one hour for $100 RUN! If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!!
